Who Inspires You?

Hi, blog friends!

In the span of just four days, I’ve had three influential women in my life have a birthday. My mom, youth pastors wife and the previous youth pastors wife. These women each have influenced me in different ways- my mom, obviously, the most and the longest.

My mom and I are at a good place in our relationship, however; it wasn’t always like this. We had the typical up and down relationship during my teenage years- I truly was a ball of hormones and emotions. It wasn’t a pretty sight, to say the least. Thank goodness, the Lord was with us through it all and over time, we’ve been able to repair our relationship and it’s better than it has ever been. She has taught me so much, I don’t even think I can begin to list everything. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t be the person I am, or where I am, without my mom.

There are some people in the “lime light” that I admire and inspire me in various ways.

Bethenny Frankel- she came from nothing and has built this huge empire. I love how she has taken her grim childhood and has used it to build a better life for her daughter.
Giuliana Rancic- she was an ordinary Italian girl (who was made fun of in school) and used that to light a fire in herself to pursue her dreams. She is a go-getter, a fighter (her story of trying to have a child and battling cancer is amazing) and a beautiful fashionista.

These women have come from ordinary backgrounds and have built up their brand and name in such different, yet amazing, ways. Granted, I don’t plan on being in the lime light, or even being famous, but seeing them pursue their dreams and goals IS highly motivating and inspiring.

There are people in my everyday life that inspire me too. Whether it be a few different blog readers, the girls in my group at church, friends, family members- each person has impacted me in different ways.
If you looks around, I’m sure you can think of different people who have inspired you in different ways. I can’t wait to see who inspires YOU!

My best friend Stacey is my inspiration. She and I are so opposite in many ways yet we have a closeness and a sameness that draws us together. I think it is the fact that we both rely so heavily on our faith and on living our lives to glorify God that draws us together. She is the one who builds me up, holds me accountable, keeps me going. The fact that she is bold and outgoing helps to pull my more in the box personality out of the sameness and into trying new things or standing up for myself or my family. I am blessed to have her in my life.

I love your meaningful posts Paulina! My grandmother (who is now with the Lord) signed every card, “I love you and God loves you”. She let me know EVERY MOMENT we spent together…that God loved me and cared about me. I didn’t become a Christian until I was 29 (I relate to Saul/Paul’s testimony)…but when I did….it was a continuation of the lil’ seeds she threw and threw and threw into my garden. That woman prayed for me for 30+ years (10 of which she spent in an Alzheimer trance). I told her (while she was in that trance),”Grandma, you can go home and rest…my sisters and I know Jesus now and we will continue to pray for the family”. She did go. That week. She was my personal missionary!

Ohh my goodness…what an amazing post, Paulina! Just too sweet and heartfelt.

There are 2 people that have influenced, guided and inspired my life. I owe a great amount to my Father (passed 10 years ago this Christmas) and to my hubby of 22 years. My Father was the most kind, generous, caring & forgiving person I’ve ever known. He truly had a heart of gold and insisted on trying to spread his love and weird sense of humor wherever he went. He would tell me I needed to be forgiving of others and how to always make lemonaid out of the lemons I was delt. Even though he’s gone now to be with the Lord, I’m still my Daddy’s little girl and will always remember his life lessons. In most respects, the man I married is a lot like my father. Heart of gold, family oriented, loving and kind to those around him. He teaches me and reminds me everyday to strive to be a better person. I am very lucky to have had / to have 2 such amazing people in my life.
