Organized Stamp & Die Storage + Giveaway

Pretty Pink Posh: Organized Stamp & Die Storage

Hello everyone! Today we are so excited about this post; we will be sharing with you a couple of ways to organize your stamps and dies; one more widely known and the other as a cost-saving alternative.

I love having my supplies organized in a pretty (although its mandatory for me that it is a functional-pretty). However, most every one of us has only a limited amount of funds that can be spent on their crafty supplies each month. For me, I would rather have more tools, stamps, inks, paper, etc. then spend too much of my allocated craft funds on organizational materials.

I’ll be showing you in my video for today how I store all my stamps and dies, but I wanted to cover a couple of things here in the post too…

Pretty Pink Posh: Organized Stamp & Die Storage

Let’s first talk about stamp/die pockets… I used to keep all my stamps and dies in their original packaging; but after a while the packaging would wear out from constant use, so I needed a new method. I used the Avery Elle storage sleeves for a while and though they are great and hold up wonderfully, I wanted something more cost effective; I also wasn’t a huge fan of the flap closure as I like things more easily accessible.

That’s when I came up with taking 5×7 photo sleeves and using them as stamp and die storage pockets. The kind I buy comes 50 sheets to a box, with two sleeves per sheet. I cut each sheet down and by doing so, I result in a total of 100 pockets for just over $10. Most photo sleeves are designed to withstand a lot of handling and I have been using my oldest pockets for about 2 years now and have not needed to replace any.

For keeping my dies organized, I like using magnetic vent covers. These are thin magnetic sheets that are easily found in local hardware stores (or online). Be sure to watch the video to see the magnetic sheets in action. If you are crafting on a budget, you could skip using the magnetic sheets and simply store your dies in pockets loose.

Finally, I wanted to mention how I store my stamps and dies when they are not in use. I use InterDesign fridge bins; I usually buy the two-row bins, as I like these best (again, personal preference). However, I do use other Fridge Bins in various sizes for a variety of other materials and supplies.

  1. Very cool storage tips, thanks for sharing! I use the vent covers too! :-)

A shopping spree would be spent on some of the new iridescent sequins as they’re gorgeous! And a few mixes, too – they’re my favourite. And I think there would need to be some space for one of the storybook dies, too! :-) oh… and let’s not forget that rainy days stamp set! Ooops… is my wish list too long? !

  2. I so love those vent covers (buy mine at Lowes) and the Ellen Hutson pockets work great! Thanks for a great tutorial that reaffirmed to me I’m doing storage right. (I have been so lazy about the labeling, though–need to find my P-touch!)

  3. Thank you so much for the amazing ideas, I’m running out of my Avery Elle pockets and I was looking for an alternative. the 5″x7″ photo sleeves are a genius idea and I was even able to find them in singles instead of the full sheets.

Now for the shopping spree I can’t help but be affected by this post so I’d probably get this gorgeous label maker ^_^

  4. How generous of you! I still have my stamps, sort of, in their original sleeves. I say “sort of” as most are split down the side of course. One size packaging would make the smaller ones easier to find.

  5. Thank you for the great tipps! a shopping spree i would spend on some storybook dies and stamps just because i never have enough of those :)! thank you for the give away and have a great day

  6. Thank you so much for sharing this! I love your idea of cutting the pockets so that it doubles your quantity! Doubling the storage pouches and saving money that is right up my alley!

  7. Really great storage tips! Organization is a must for all the little stamps and dies. Organization is also a must astomnot buy duplicates, ask me how I know, lol. Thanks for the chance to win such an awesome prize. I think I’d have to split it, half on organization tools and half on some PPP new goodies, lol.

  9. How did you know I’ve been looking at my stacks and thinking I needed to do something about this? Thanks for the inspiration!

  11. I buy very inexpensive plastic did storage sleeves from Amazon. They are very inexpensive 200 for $15. I just replace if they wear out

For those dies that do not have a coordinating stamp set, I plan to use magnetic sheets and will use photo pockets for them. It would be great to win a gift certificate to help with my craft organization. Thank you for the opportunity!
