Tutorial: Die Cut Backgrounds

Hello Pretty Pink Posh friends! Shannon here today to share a card with a background created from the Stitched Hexagon dies. I love these hexagons and thought some colorful ones would make the perfect background.

I started off by by choosing a few colors of card stock. I cut three hexagons from each color by creating a frame with two smallest hexagons by inlaying on inside the other and running through my die machine.

Once I had all my hexagons cut I started my adhering them onto a white piece of card stock, by starting in the middle and working them out. I didn’t have a particular pattern I was fallowing, I just didn’t want any of the same colors of hexagons touching.

Once I had them all done I flipped my panel over to cut the excess of the hexagons off.

I then matted my panel onto some light gray cardstock. After doing so I decided I wanted to put white hexagons in the center of all the hexagons. I cut them out using the smallest hexagon die and adhered them inside my colorful hexagons. I highly suggest doing this part first as trimming the excess off became a challenge once I had it matted onto another piece of card stock, but I made it work.

Once I had this all done I adhered the panel onto a white card base and starting working on my sentiment. I used the hello sentiment from the Blissful Butterflies stamp set. I stamped it in Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then cut the sentiment out using the coordinating dies.

I added my sentiment onto my card and finished off by scattering on some Pewter and Sparkling Clear sequins.

That’s it for my card today! Hope you enjoyed the hexagon background. Thank you so much for stopping in!!
