Distress Oxide Inks + Giveaway

Hi there! Laura Bassen here and today I have a couple of fun projects to share using the Distress Oxide Inks along with some Pretty Pink Posh products.

Watch the video above   I   Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I had so much fun experimenting with the Distress Oxide inks using some of my favorite techniques. Below is a few backgrounds comparing the regular Distress Inks to the Oxide Inks. The top two were simple ink blended backgrounds with flicks of water using Wilted Violet, Broken China, Cracked Pistachio & Fossilized Amber. The Oxide Ink panels are on the right and the regular Distress Inked panels are on the left. The bottom two panels were created using one of my favorite techniques “ink smooshing”. I used Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade & Fossilized Amber. You can see that the results are slightly different. Not a huge difference, but there is a difference.

Then I used the Oxide Ink backgrounds to create a couple of projects. This first card features the Bee Friends stamp set along with the coordinating dies.

I used the arch die from the Stitched Duo 3 dies & the rectangle die from the Stitched Notes dies to create a shaker card. I filled the shaker with Sparkling Clear, Bermuda Blue, Peridot Mist, Blue Lagoon, and Ocean Spray sequins.

This next card features the adorable Friends Forever stamp set with coordinating dies.

I simply colored the images with Copics and popped them up over the “ink smooshed” background and added a few Sparkling Clear sequins to finish it off.

  17. Difficult question ! I would say the 1st one is the Misti. Before having one, I had given up with stamping as I cannot have a non perfect stamp on a card. Then I will go for the alcool markers. I’ve always loved coloring but I’m very bad at it. Since I’ve found these markers, I’m much happier with my cards, they give fabulous results even with “starting card-maker” like me.

And as a final, but obviously they HAD to be on my list, the PPP sequins. Their colors are so gorgeous, I cannot make one card now without adding a few of them.

  298. Beautiful cards! I always love the color in Laura’s cards! My favorite crafty things right now would be my Misti, my big shot & my embossing powders! 💕

  299. It’s so fun to watch the Smooshing technique but I haven’t tried it yet. Great cards by the way! I love my Big Shot, Distress Inks and pattern papers. Thank you.

  300. Wow! These look awesome to play with. Thank you for sharing your video! I really enjoyed watching it. I need to get some and start playing.

  301. Thanks for this great giveaway! My top three products right now are distress inks, embossing powder and Nuvo drops.

  302. I just love videos from Laura! Always fun, always informative, always inspiring!
My faves are: Big Shot, dies, memento inks

  303. My favorite three craft stuff right now is my die cut machine and dies, PPP sequins, and good paper. It is so good to have you back. Thanks for the giveaway.

  304. I HAVE NEVER USED ANY OF THE DISTRESS INKS OR THESE INK OXIDES. I LOVE THE TRANSLUCENT QUALITY THAT THE OXIDES SEEM TO PRODUCE. I WOULD LOVE TO GIVE THESE A TRY IF YOU WERE TO SELECT MY NAME. MY FAVORITE STAMPING PRODUCTS CURRENTLY ARE MY MISTI (WHAT A TIME SAVER-NO MORE STRESSING TO GET IT PERFECT WITH MY MISTI), MY CRYSTAL KATANA FOR PLACEMENT OF EMBELLISHMETS AND TOMBOW MONO LIQUID GLUE.

  305. My hands-down #1 favorite tool is my MISTI. I have multiple sclerosis, and my MISTI helps me to stamp cleanly. I love my Big Shot, too, as it helps me to cut shapes easily. My third favorite tool is my collection of distress inks that I use for blending and also as watercolors. I am excited for the chance to win some Distress Oxide inks, since they blend so much more smoothly, like BUTTAH!

  306. Laura fadora. I adore you! You always make me smile and make beautiful cards.

  307. Wow…..I just have 2 oxide inks now and have enjoyed playing with them….would love to win!!!! The cards are beautiful …..thanks for the video and a chance to win!!!!!

  308. Love the new products! And the Distress Oxides are perfect for these!

  309. Beautiful cards!! I don’t have a lot of inks and I’m just starting to expand in this area. I really would love these distress oxide inks. That’s what I’ll be focusing on now. My 3 favourite crafty things right now are 1) Wink of Stella as it’s a quick, mess free way to add sparkle and shimmer. 2) word dies and 3) nesting ovals and rectangles -stitched or not. Both 2 and 3 because it is faster than having to measure everything and cut out individually. You just run it through and you’re done!!

  310. The colors are so lovely. And I enjoy how you compared the two media. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
