Tutorial: Fuse Tool + Giveaway

Pretty Pink Posh: Fuse Tool Tutorial

Hi everyone, it’s Nina-Marie here with you today! I’m going to share some inspiration and tips for using the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool with your Pretty Pink Posh products to create an easy and fun shaker card!

Pretty Pink Posh: Fuse Tool Tutorial

I love making shaker cards and prior to the Fuse Tool, most of us were making our shakers using LOTS of foam tape. While that works well, I have found that the Fuse Tool makes shaker cards not only easier to create but there are other benefits as well…

  1. The sequins and other shaker elements do not get stuck to the sides of your shaker because there is no foam tape for them to stick to
  2. There is less bulk because we do not need to create a dimensional well to allow the shaker bits to move around.
  3. Purchasing inexpensive photo sleeves to use for your shakers is more cost effective then using a lot of foam tape.

Pretty Pink Posh: Fuse Tool Tutorial

These are just some of the benefits I have found so far with the Fuse Tool; honestly, I’m questioning myself as to why I hadn’t gotten this tool when it first came out!

For this card I’ve created, I used a few different stamp and die sets; all the products are listed at the bottom of the post. I felt that the darling little elephant from WPlus9’s Unforgettable stamp set would be a perfect for a “welcome baby” card.

For the main piece, I started out with the Scallop Frames die and had that be the inspiration I based my whole card around. For the shaker part, I filled it with the Sweet Pea Mix, Gold Stars, 8mm Sparkling Clear and 10mm Sparkling Clear.

I colored the elephant with Copics and use him to create an extra interactive element on this card… watch the video to find out! I’ll also be talking more in-depth about the Fuse Tool in the video. I hope you enjoy and get some inspiration for using the Fuse Tool in your upcoming projects!

Easter Theme Week- Day 5

easterweek

Hi there everyone, it’s Nina-Marie here today to share a fun, half-circle window scene card with you as part of our Easter theme week!

Pretty Pink Posh

I love creating scenes and the new Pretty Pink Posh Window Frame dies are perfect for making something a bit different shape then the usual full-circle windows.

To start off, I have used the Lawn Fawn Happy Easter stamp set to create the images for my scene; I stamped them all onto white cardstock using black ink and colored them all with Copics. I’ve got the colors broken out below for easy reference:

  • Bunny: Eoooo, E50, E30, E31, RV00, R20, C1, C3
  • Bird: Y000, Y11, Y15, YR23, R20
  • Eggs: Y000, Y11, BG0000, BG10, RV00, RV10, G00, YG41
  • Tulips: RV00, RV10, Y11, Y15, BG0000, BG01
  • Grass (die cut) YG61, YG97, YG95, BG93

After coloring, I fussy cut everything out and added a few additional details using a white gel pen.

Pretty Pink Posh

To put my scene together, I started off by die cutting a large panel from a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die and the Pretty Pink Posh Window Frame die; the negative half circle piece from the window I saved for using as the background to my scene. I stamped a light yellow bunny background using the Peeps Background cling from Simon Says Stamp.

Pretty Pink Posh

I colored the negative half circle with Cracked Pistachio distress ink and layered the following elements on top (in order): a white cloud border (Puffy Clouds border die from Lawn Fawn), a white fence (Picket Fence die from Pretty Pink Posh), and a strip of green grass (Grassy Hills border die from My Favorite Things).

Pretty Pink Posh

I tucked all the images I colored around the window scene and laid the entire piece back inside the die cut window frame I had die cut previously. I added Wink Of Stella clear glitter, Glossy Accents and a heat embossed sentiment onto the card. And of course, I used some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and confetti to finish things off (Iridescent Mini Heart confetti and Easter Mix sequins).

Warm Winter Wishes

Hello there!

It feels like it’s been ages since I wrote a post. I’m so happy to report that all Black Friday orders have shipped and I truly am grateful that this year has been such a busy one. It’s been almost exactly two years since I first opened the shop and never in the wildest dreams did I think I would be where I am now. I’ll be reflecting back via a post very soon…

Today I wanted to share a card I made from the latest release. It shows the Scallop Frames and Stitched Photo Frames dies, along with the reindeer and snowballs from the Toboggan Together set by Lawn Fawn. I am so obsessed with this reindeer and I’m strongly considering making him the star of my Christmas cards this year.

december1a

I incorporated the adorable Santa hat and sentiment from the Winter Friends stamp set. The little hat looks so cute on this reindeer and I’m sure I’ll be able to find even more critters that’ll fit into this hat from my stash.

I mentioned in a previous post that I have been loving gold glittered cardstock. It is so sparkly in person and I love that it’s not messy! I’m going to need to invest in some silver as well- I’m sure it’ll be just as gorgeous and will work with some winter themed cards really well.

december1b

I hope that you enjoyed today’s card. Have a fabulous weekend!

November 2015 Release

Hello there, friends!

It’s an exciting day here in the Pretty Pink Posh studio- my big November release is now live in the shop! Whether you like sequins, seed beads, dies, or stamp sets, there’s sure to be a little something for everyone.

Stamp Sets // Coordinating Dies

Die SetsPretty Pink Posh

Today I wanted to share my favorite card that I created this week using the new products. I started off with the new Scallop Frames dies (which are exclusive in the shop) and die cut it in gold glitter cardstock. Thanks to Carissa, one of the PPP designers, I am obsessed with this stuff now. Next up I knew that I wanted to use the Stitched Photo Frames, so I die cut a bunch in a variety of colors and decided blue looked best on this card.

Pretty Pink Posh

Before I go on, I must say that the reindeer are by Lawn Fawn (because I’m a huge fan of theirs) and I wanted to show that my products work SO well with other brands.  However, I did incorporate the adorable Santa hat and sentiment from the Winter Friends stamp set.

To finish off the card I used some patterned paper to mat my elements and added a strip of white cardstock die cut with the scallops from the Stitched Borders 3 die set. Adhere a few Sparkling Clear sequins and your card is good to go!

Tip: run your dies through in a variety of colors to keep on hand. It’s a time saver when you need a quick card and helps when you visually need to see which color(s) look best!

Trick or Treat + Giveaway

Hello, hello!

I’m back with another Halloween card- this one shows off the darling new Holiday Party Animal set from Lawn Fawn. They included so many adorable little additions in this set- it definitely is a “must have” in my book!

I wanted to start off with a lot of gray and black and then have a pop of color in the middle. Thanks to the squares in the Stitched Duo 3 die set, I was able to accomplish this look easily. You could use this idea with all sorts of colors and it would look great!

halloween5a

I’ve mentioned in previous Halloween cards that the Teeny Star Background from DeNami Design is one of my favorites. I love stamping it with black ink and creating backgrounds, or in this case, filling in some white space. I think it helps bring together the black from the card base and set the scene for a Halloween card.

To finish off the card, I decided to add some twine and a trio of sequins from the Sparkling Clear Mix. Notice the three sizes of sequins? That’s all in one mix, along with another larger size. It’s perfect if you’re just starting to collect sequins, or you’re a fan of the Sparkling Clear.

halloween5b I purchased an extra set of the Holiday Party Animal and want to give it away to one of you, along with a pack of sequins! With these products, you’ll be set to create all sorts of fun holiday cards.

You’re Boo-Tastic

Hello and Happy Friday!

I’m so happy to say that I’m all caught up on new release orders- a giant thank you to everyone who ordered. I’m getting some retailer orders shipped out soon, so be on the lookout for PPP in the retailers that carry my products.

Today I wanted to share a full Halloween shaker card I created recently. I feel like a lot of Halloween cards are black, gray and orange, so I wanted to create something with a different color palette. I used the new Spooky Days Mix as my inspiration and created a card highlighting those colors.

Pretty Pink Posh

I must say, one of my very favorite dies is the Storybook 1. It’s so versatile and you can create all sorts of scenes and shakers using it as a negative, or use the inner pieces for panels on your projects. It’s been a joy to see this die set all over blog land recently!

On this card, I started off by using the pumpkins from the So Thankful set. This is a mini set but I’ve used it on so many cards and absolutely love it. I paired it with the Halloween Kitty (another one I pull out every year), the bat from Trick or Trick set and the sentiment is from the Bootastic set.

Pretty Pink Posh

In the craft session when I created this card, I also made several other Halloween cards. I’ll do my best to share them all before the end of the month!

Want to see more cards using the So Thankful (pumpkin) set? Here’s three of my favorites…

If you’re one of the people who purchased the Darling Friends stamp set that was designed exclusively for Simon Says Stamp, I wanted to share some cards that the design team created recently. This set was so fun to create and let’s just say that if you have it, you’ll be able to use it with some upcoming sets.

October 2015 Release

Hello there, friends!

Today the new October release went live and I am so very excited to be sharing these products with you. This month, I have three super versatile die sets, along with new sequin mixes and a brand new product called Clear Droplets that you are going to love.

Pretty Pink Posh

On today’s card, I wanted to showcase the Decorative Tag 1 die set. There are three dies in this cute set and boy, the possibilities are endless with this one. I really wanted the larger shape to take the spotlight, so I die cut it with some festive patterned paper. I really enjoy creating Christmas and holiday cards in non-traditional colors, so I decided to pair the red up with this light blue. I thought the snow flurry paper in the background really bought everything together!

Pretty Pink Posh

Since I kept the card design pretty basic, I wanted to make sure the little reindeer shine. I stamped and die cut him and then colored him in with some Copics. To add a little more shimmer, I added a glitter snowy hill underneath him (which I can never seem to photograph well) and one little red metallic sequin on his nose. I really wanted to use the “special delivery” sentiment from StudioL2e, so I decided to add a little present. Love the way this turned out!

Pretty Pink PoshDespite the fact that I have dozens of different sequin colors, I always seem to gravitate to the Sparkling Clear Mix. They go with everything, especially cute Christmas cards!

Halloween Fun + Coupon Code

It’s mid September, the leaves are starting to fall and I think it’s about time I start sharing some Halloween and fall projects here on the blog. I don’t know why, but I love making Halloween cards. It might be the fact the colors are outside my “norm”, or maybe the fact that I have never gone trick-or-treating. Whatever the case may be, the Halloween stamps these days are so cute and fun to use.

One of my favorite fall sets is So Thankful by Lawn Fawn and it’s a mere $4.00, but I have used it so much the last year. You can create simple place cards, tags, one layer cards, or you can build it up and create full pumpkin patches. Such a fun and versatile set!

Pretty Pink Posh

For this card, I wanted to showcase the Storybook 1 die and show how you can create a little scene, but also include a sentiment. The beauty of this die is you can use it with ANY brand of stamps. I personally am obsessed with the Teeny Star Background from DeNami Design on my Halloween cards. The contrast between the bright white cardstock and black stars is my favorite.

To finish off the card, I felt it needed some sparkle so I added some Marigold, Onyx, Charcoal and Sparkling Clear sequins. I adhere mine with Multi Medium Matte– my go-to for adhering small embellishments!

Pretty Pink Posh

Want to see some of the other Halloween projects I’ve created years past? Here are three that I really loved. There’s more that I’ll share… in a post later on!

You’ve Got A Friend

Hello, friends!

Today I have a card to share that I made during a previous crafty session. It’s so funny-some months I’m all caught up on orders and the day-to-day office work, so I have all sorts of crafty time, and then other months I’m so busy that I don’t get to craft at all. Oh the struggle of seeing all the new products laying in the studio and not getting to use them… Can anyone relate to that?

On this card, I pulled out several Lawn Fawn sets- Gleeful Gardens, Let’s Play and Happy Easter (supply list below). If you have followed my blog for a while, you know I love mixing and matching sets and brands and I really did that on this card.

Pretty Pink Posh

For my focal point, I started off with the Stitched Duo 2 and die cut it with the light blue paper from the Avery Elle Sorbet Collection (you know the one- the paper pack I bought at least six times ON PURPOSE). I then put together my scene using the Lawn Fawn stamps and added the Picket Fence die, along with a grassy “hill” made from the scallop in the Stitched Borders 2 die set. To round out the focal piece, I added this fun sentiment from the Ella & Friends set.

For the card base, I stamped the Arrow background from Create A Smile, added a light yellow and white scallop strip (die cut from the Stitched Borders 1) and then put everything together. To finish off the card, I added a couple of sequins and some flowers from the Spring Flowers Mix to the corner.

Pretty Pink Posh

Pretty Pink Posh

I mentioned that I would bring some sneak peeks and an update on where you can find Pretty Pink Posh. As you know, it’s just me doing everything here, so I’ve been really cautious about not growing too quickly and still maintaining quality customer service. Recently, I’ve been able to bring on a couple more retailers- one of them being in Japan and another one coming to the UK (not yet revealed yet)!

Find all of the current PPP retailers HERE

I’m currently working on some fun things that I’ll announce here on the blog soon. I’ll see you tomorrow for another post!

Sending Smiles

I hope that you all are getting excited and prepared to participate in the Watercolor Blog Hop…. only a week until it’s here! I hope that you have been able to take advantage of some of the savings coupons and are all ready to create some beautiful watercolor cards!

It’s been a while since I’ve had time to craft, so I haven’t been able to play with my new watercolors yet. However, you could totally use watercolors instead of markers on today’s card and the results would be stunning! I’m dying to experiment with some watercolor techniques… crossing my fingers I get some crafty time this weekend!

Pretty Pink Posh

For this card, I used the Gleeful Gardens set from Lawn Fawn and created my own little scene. I still love how my Picket Fence die looks with these images- it’s the perfect way to add dimension to a card without making things seem too busy.

Pretty Pink Posh

I know it’s been a while since I filmed any sort of video and I apologize. Typically, the PPP orders and day-to-day correspondence and office work take priority, which leaves only a little time to craft and fit in filming/ editing. I have a HUGE haul to film and there’s a few other videos I’ve been wanting to film for a while. I’m almost caught up on all my retailer orders, so I’m hoping to sneak in some filming very soon. Thank you for being patient on the video front. Oh and a HUGE thank you to everyone who has subscribed to the Pretty Pink Posh YouTube channel– we now have over 5,000 subscribers!

That’s going to wrap up today’s post. Big hugs to you all…
