Merry Reindeer + Giveaway Winners

Hello, friends!

We’re just a couple days away from Christmas and I wanted to share a card I made this year. I didn’t get to send Christmas cards this year, but thanks to a couple guest spots, I did create a couple cards that I’ll be giving to some family members. I was so bummed that I didn’t have time to create cards for crafty friends and my designers this year, but it’s also a blessing, because I was so busy with orders.

This year there were several amazing Christmas sets that came out and while I didn’t get to create with many of them, I’m happy for the time I did get to play with some! This adorable one called Reindeer Games by Mama Elephant was such a fun one.

On this card, I used the Decorative Tag 1 die set for my focal point and the Mama Elephant stamps went along with it perfectly. I added just a few sequins- one for the nose and three for the “snowballs”.

As promised, I have the winners from the Christmas Gift Guide giveaways. It made me so very happy to read that the guides were helpful and some of you purchased items from them! While they were a lot of work, reading how much you appreciated them made it so worth it. I just may have to do this again next year!

Without further ado, here are the winners. I have emailed the winners (using the email addresses given) so I can be sure to send the gift certificates to the right email addresses! winners3Thanks for spending some time with me today!

Tutorial: Cake Pops Card

Hello Everyone, Joni here and I am back with more inspiration using the new Mini Tags dies that we love so much. Cake Pops anyone?

1 - someonelikeyou-p

To begin, I distressed the corners of an A2 flat card panel. I only used three colors, but of course you can use more for your project if you need. 2 - someonelikeyou-p

Next, I die-cut the round tag from the Mini tags die set for my cake top.

3 - someonelikeyou-p

Then, I adhered some strip of white cardstock at the bottom of the point of the round mini tags. I also distressed the white card panel with Wplus9 Hayride dye ink and die-cut the right side of the A2 white panel with my all time favorite Stitched Borders 3 dies. I also added some watercolored stripe patterned paper on the card base.

The sentiment from Mama Elephant Make a Wish stamp set is stamped with Versamark Ink on a brown strip of cardstock and white heat.
4 - someonelikeyou-p

Next, I placed the cake pop on top of the white cardstock panel and adhered with foam tape for dimensions. I also added some Golden Rod Stickles and White Opal Liquid Pearls on top of the cake pop to make look more realistic.

I also added some White Opal Liquid Pearl on the white panel and adhered some Marshmallow sequins in 6mm and 4mm.

5 - someonelikeyou-p

For the sentiment I also added some foam tape for dimension.

Here’s just another look of the Cake Pop card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s feature! If you create a card similar to this one, or use Pretty Pink Posh on your projects, don’t forget to tag Pretty Pink Posh so we can see it too!

If you’ve been hopping along, you should have arrived from Pamela Ho’s blog!

I was so thrilled to be asked as a guest designer for this special event for Mama Elephant. I’ve been a long-time fan of their stamps and I squealed in delight when I first saw the Reindeer Games set. These little reindeer are adorable and I had all sorts of fun creating with this set. I knew that a winter scene was a must, so I pulled out the little penguin from Polar Pals (a previously released set) and constructed this winter wonderland.

While this card may look intricate, it really all came together easily. I die cut the card base with the scallop frame from the Femme Frames/ Basic Set and then used the rectangle as my focal panel. For my background, I wanted a subtle design, so I did a bit of tone-on-tone stamping with the On Point Background set.  Thanks to lots of glitter, I was able to achieve the snowy hills and then added my stamped images. To finish off the card, I added a few Sparkling Clear sequins, Wink of Stella on the animals and a couple metallic red sequins on the reindeer noses.

Thanks for stopping by- I hope this card inspired you with your upcoming Christmas cards. I’ll definitely be back with more cards using these new Mama Elephant stamps in the near future!

You’re Boo-Tastic

Hello and Happy Friday!

I’m so happy to say that I’m all caught up on new release orders- a giant thank you to everyone who ordered. I’m getting some retailer orders shipped out soon, so be on the lookout for PPP in the retailers that carry my products.

Today I wanted to share a full Halloween shaker card I created recently. I feel like a lot of Halloween cards are black, gray and orange, so I wanted to create something with a different color palette. I used the new Spooky Days Mix as my inspiration and created a card highlighting those colors.

Pretty Pink Posh

I must say, one of my very favorite dies is the Storybook 1. It’s so versatile and you can create all sorts of scenes and shakers using it as a negative, or use the inner pieces for panels on your projects. It’s been a joy to see this die set all over blog land recently!

On this card, I started off by using the pumpkins from the So Thankful set. This is a mini set but I’ve used it on so many cards and absolutely love it. I paired it with the Halloween Kitty (another one I pull out every year), the bat from Trick or Trick set and the sentiment is from the Bootastic set.

Pretty Pink Posh

In the craft session when I created this card, I also made several other Halloween cards. I’ll do my best to share them all before the end of the month!

Want to see more cards using the So Thankful (pumpkin) set? Here’s three of my favorites…

If you’re one of the people who purchased the Darling Friends stamp set that was designed exclusively for Simon Says Stamp, I wanted to share some cards that the design team created recently. This set was so fun to create and let’s just say that if you have it, you’ll be able to use it with some upcoming sets.

That’s going to wrap up this post. Thank you for stopping by and spending some time with me today!

August 2015 Release

Hello there!

Today I have the new August release and boy, am I excited to share these new products. This month, I have three new die sets, along with five new iridescent sequins that are exclusively in the Pretty Pink Posh Shop. In addition to that, we have new sequin mixes that you are going to love.

Pretty Pink Posh

For my first card, I wanted to showcase the Storybook 1 die set. This is the first die where I added dual stitching, meaning you’ll get stitching on the outside of the die cuts in addition to the inside die cuts. I am a huge fan of stitching on dies (hence almost all of mine having it) and am really excited to be adding this versatile die to the shop.

There are so many possibilities with this die set. I initially designed this set to be used to create little scenes, but you can use it in other ways as well. I love that you can use it both as a negative (for shaker cards or scenes), or you can use the inside dies for smaller stamps and sentiments. As you know, I always try to creative unique and versatile dies and I truly think this fits both categories!

Pretty Pink Posh

For the stamps on this sweet card, I used one of the butterflies from the Fancy Flutters set and paired it with the Solid Leaf Vine (both from DeNami Design). I then added a sentiment from Mama Elephant and for the finishing touch, I used the variety of Sparkling Clear sequins from the new Sparkling Clear Mix.

You all have been asking for a mixture of the Sparkling Clear sequins and it’s finally here. Since I’m a one woman show, I definitely hear all of your requests and if I think it’ll be a good addition to the shop, I try my best to make it happen. If you ever have requests, always feel free to submit a comment using the contact form here on my blog.

Pretty Pink Posh

On my second card, I created a sweet and simple little scene using some of my favorite critters. The new Stitched Speech Bubbles are perfect for adding sentiments to your cards, while making it look like the animals are talking to you, or each other.

Pretty Pink Posh

This little scene was created using the Stitched Duo 2 rectangle, along with the Picket Fence and my favorite grass die by Lawn Fawn. To finish off the scene I added some flowers from the new Summer Flowers Mix, a sprinkling of Sparkling Clear sequins and then some yellow chevron ribbon.

I’m still working on figuring the ins and outs of the program, so the lighting and editing still needs a bit of fine tuning for future videos…

You’ve Got A Friend

Hello, friends!

Today I have a card to share that I made during a previous crafty session. It’s so funny-some months I’m all caught up on orders and the day-to-day office work, so I have all sorts of crafty time, and then other months I’m so busy that I don’t get to craft at all. Oh the struggle of seeing all the new products laying in the studio and not getting to use them… Can anyone relate to that?

On this card, I pulled out several Lawn Fawn sets- Gleeful Gardens, Let’s Play and Happy Easter (supply list below). If you have followed my blog for a while, you know I love mixing and matching sets and brands and I really did that on this card.

Pretty Pink Posh

For my focal point, I started off with the Stitched Duo 2 and die cut it with the light blue paper from the Avery Elle Sorbet Collection (you know the one- the paper pack I bought at least six times ON PURPOSE). I then put together my scene using the Lawn Fawn stamps and added the Picket Fence die, along with a grassy “hill” made from the scallop in the Stitched Borders 2 die set. To round out the focal piece, I added this fun sentiment from the Ella & Friends set.

For the card base, I stamped the Arrow background from Create A Smile, added a light yellow and white scallop strip (die cut from the Stitched Borders 1) and then put everything together. To finish off the card, I added a couple of sequins and some flowers from the Spring Flowers Mix to the corner.

Pretty Pink Posh

I mentioned that I would bring some sneak peeks and an update on where you can find Pretty Pink Posh. As you know, it’s just me doing everything here, so I’ve been really cautious about not growing too quickly and still maintaining quality customer service. Recently, I’ve been able to bring on a couple more retailers- one of them being in Japan and another one coming to the UK (not yet revealed yet)!

Find all of the current PPP retailers HERE

I’m currently working on some fun things that I’ll announce here on the blog soon. I’ll see you tomorrow for another post!

Superhero Thanks + News

Today I wanted to share a card that I made several months ago and never got to share. Both my work computer and camera have been on the outs for a while, so the photos I took of this card previously never looked decent. Thanks to the gorgeous weather here in Seattle recently, I’ve been able to take some better photos and am “stocked up” for upcoming posts.  Sadly, my computer has completely crashed from old age and I’m going to need to purchase a whole new one, for those who have been asking why I haven’t done any videos recently. I tell ya, I have a love/ hate relationship with technology…

Now back to the card for today. When I made this card, I was going through a phase of needing a break from pink and purple, so I pulled out some boy-ish colors that I think look darling with these superheroes.

june4a

One of these days I’ll have to share a snapshot or video of how I decide which stamps to use on a card. I typically pull out 5-6 stamp set that I want to use and then I’ll use a little of this set, a sentiment from another set and maybe some little elements from a different set. I always like trying to use the sets I have in new and creative ways and this is a great way to do that!

As I was putting together the pieces of the card, I needed a background and the  Teeny Star Background fit the bill perfectly. I have a thing for background stamps and this is one of my absolute favorites. To finish off the card, I used the thanks sentiment from the Stitched set by Impress and colored it in so it had an ombré feel. Such a fun sentiment that can be used in so many ways!

excitingnews

For my customers in Japan, I have some exciting news- the store Crop Party (located in Osaka) will be carrying Pretty Pink Posh sequins and dies very soon! They placed their first order and I’ll be shipping it later this week and that means you can order right in their store! I am so very excited about this amazing opportunity and it wouldn’t be possible if you didn’t continue to share you love of PPP with your local stores.

I wanted to update you all on my sequins. I’m getting a HUGE restock shipment of the sequins that have been out of stock for quite some time. I know there are quite a few that have been waiting for this restock, so I’ll be doing a special 3 day coupon once they arrive. Stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping in and spending some time with me today. Until next time…

Animal Thanks + Giveaway Winners

Hello, friends!

As promised, I have a new card to share with you, along with the winners of the Product Release Blog Hop. I had hoped to do this post earlier in the week, but I got the 24 hour flu and I just didn’t make it into the studio. Thankfully, I’m feeling much better now and have been a busy little bee the rest of the week.

In my recent hauls, I’ve shown the newest Avery Elle paper packs- I’m utterly obsessed with them. I decided to go with a much subdued color palette for this card and as I was flipping through  my paper packs, I thought this color suited the animals perfectly (it’s from the Zen paper pack). I ended up creating four of these cards in one sitting and since it’s a simple card layout, I was able to whip them out in an hour or so. Not bad for a notoriously slow crafter!

Pretty Pink Posh

Right now I am just plain obsessed with animal stamps. I love pairing new animals together- my most recent addition is the lion. How cute is he?! It’s a little hard to see in the photo, but I stamped the thanks onto one of the Stitched Labels 1 dies and had it peek out from the animals. It’s the perfect size for a card and I love how it adds just a little more stitching to the card as well.

Pretty Pink Posh

Just in case you missed the Watercolor Blog Hop announcement, I wanted to remind you that there are some fabulous coupon codes in that post as well. I took advantage of some of them already (you’ll see what I got in my May/ June Craft Haul video). Whether you need some basic craft supplies, stamps or products for the watercolor theme, you’ll be able to get all of this and more from the variety of coupons!

WatercolorCouponsBH3_small

Okay, now onto the winners of the $25 pretty Pink Posh gift certificates. A giant thank you to everyone who hopped along and left comments. Not only did you make my day, but I know that the design team loved hearing from you as well! Here are the two lucky winners for this month:

Thank you all so much for stopping in and for continuing to share about Pretty Pink Posh. It’s been so neat to see the numbers grow and finding more and more of your creations featuring PPP. I’m so grateful that you all are allowing me to live my dream!

Until next week… have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Love You + A Fond Farewell

Before I start with today’s post, I want to say thank you to everyone who left comments on my last post and video. I’m sure that just about every card-maker goes through phases of feeling like their work isn’t “up to par” and feel like they’re in a slump, but after receiving all the love I did in the post, I feel like I’m back in the card-making game (so to speak). Thank you, sweet friends.

Today have another card to share featuring the Circle Sayings from the newest Simon Says Stamp release. I typically stick with A2 size cards, but I thought it would be fun to change it up a bit and create a shaped card. I obviously had to use the Falling Rain background again (because I’m obsessed with it at the moment).

Pretty Pink Posh

As most of you know, I’m all about getting the most out of the stamp sets that I purchase, so I try to find unique occasions and uses for my stamps. Lately, I’ve been all about this little lion from the Cosmic Stars set from Mama Elephant. I have two other cards that I created with it recently and I cannot stop using it!

Once I was placing the animals, I realized it needed some more color, so I added a patch of grass using some watercolors. To finish it off, I adhered some Silver Star sequins and my favorite yellow chevron ribbon.

Pretty Pink Posh

borderIt’s just days away from a new release (mark your calendars for May 1st) and I’ll be welcoming three new designers to the team. Sadly, that means it’s time to say a fond farewell to three very special gals- Maureen, Stacey and Leigh. These ladies have been so supportive of PPP and I’m grateful for all the love, encouragement and inspiration they’ve provided.

farewell

I’ll be back tomorrow with the announcement of the three new designers, along with a game that could win you a $50 PPP gift certificate! Thanks for spending some time with me today!

Falling For You Blog Hop

fallingforyouhop
Hello, hello!

I am so very excited to be participating in my first Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop. They just had a new release yesterday and today a huge group of us are sharing inspiration using some of the new stamps, dies and stencils! If you are hoping along, you should have arrived from Kelly Booth’s blog.

I was giddy with excitement when I was asked to join along and equally as excited when I opened up my package and saw the new Falling Rain cling stamp. I live in Seattle (where we get LOTS of rain) and this stamp is simply perfect. Plus, it’s such a unique design and I don’t have anything else like it.

Pretty Pink Posh
I wanted to create a fun scene highlighting the Falling Rain, so after playing with a few options, I decided to make that the backdrop for my little critters. For my focal point, I started off by creating a little water puddle using the Peacock Feathers distress ink (yes, I actually did a little watercolor!). I stamped, colored and die cut the umbrella and birds and then I added some extra touches to finish off the card.

Have you tried the Clear Wink of Stella yet? Oh my goodness, I’m kind of obsessed with it at the moment. It’s the perfect balance of shimmer, without the hassle and mess of glitter.

Pretty Pink Posh
I’ve been getting a whole lot of requests for my card and tutorial videos again, so I thought today would be the perfect day to bring one. I’m a little rusty at crafting while filming, but I hope that you still enjoy the video!

Question: do you enjoy seeing people color images in? I was editing this video and realized I spent 20% of it coloring. Not sure what you all think about that…

Watch the video above   I Watch the video on YouTube

border

Whew! That was a whole lot of info in this post. I know there are lots of other stops in this fabulous blog hop, so I’ll let you go. Be sure to leave a comment on each stop- Simon Says Stamp is giving away a prize pack on each blog!

Your next stop is Pretty Pink Posh designer, Amy Kolling’s blog!

I hope that you enjoyed today’s card, video and you’re leaving inspired. Thanks for spending some time with me today!
